Instashot is a user-friendly mobile app and news aggregator designed to help you conveniently manage your health needs. With our app, people can easily schedule appointments for vaccinations and testing services, and securely save digital health data to the Instashot database.
The intuitive system lets people select their preferred publishers or websites to stay informed with the latest health articles. Whether they are looking to stay on top of the latest health trends or simply need to manage their healthcare appointments and records, Instashot is the perfect tool for them.
While the number of cases has been decreasing, many people still struggle to find trustworthy and accurate information.
Furthermore, individuals have reported losing their vaccination cards or resorting to buying fake ones online.
This raises an important question:
how might we make it easier for people to find vaccination slots, schedule appointments with clinics, and access authorized COVID-19 information?
To address these issues, Instashot was born, a comprehensive vaccination system. The platform makes it simple for people to find vaccination slots, schedule appointments, and securely store their vaccination data. Additionally, its system provides the latest authorized information on COVID-19, helping people stay informed and safe during the pandemic.
My design discovery journey began with the user research phase, during which I aimed to identify the key focus areas and pain points of my target users. My primary demographic includes graduate and undergraduate students based in Los Angeles.
After hearing the initial user interviews, here are some features I heard they would need to ease their vaccination experiences.
Based on what I have learned during the user research, I created user flows users would want to perform on the app. Some main design solutions that I ideate for the people: A news page that published by authorized publisher or organizations with CDC guidelines. Appointment service for vaccination and virus testing test. Profile featuring vaccine passport to save health data and record.
While developing this app, I completed Google's user experience certification courses, which introduced me to the concept of "inclusive design."
This idea inspired me to reconsider my initial approach, which targeted a younger demographic and excluded those who reject immunizations. Given the ongoing problem of anti-vaccination sentiment in the United States, we need to consider how we can promote herd immunity more effectively. But how to increase the herd immunity?
To build an app that's accessible to everyone and promote uptake, I've decided to incorporate a reward system that incentivizes anti-vaxxers. By doing so, we can encourage participation from a broader audience and promote a healthier community for all.
